Podcast SummaryIn Loving Voice” is a show about the spirituality of communications and relationships. At its core is how we can heal from patterns of alienation, pain, internal oppression and historical trauma by speaking in loving voice. We ask and converse about four primary questions, (1) Are you talking in a loving voice ?, (2) Are you listening in loving hearing?, (3) What would your life be like if you spoke to those around you in a loving voice ? and (4) What would your life be like if those around you spoke to you in a loving voice and heard you in loving hearing? About FatimaFatima Hafiz is an educator and activist working in teacher preparation for urban schools, whose main interest is in issues of race, fear and social injustice pedagogies. She has extensive experience in the use of service learning as an approach for working on these issues. She has worked with a number of organizations on conducting focus groups and facilitating curriculum construction with teachers and community-based groups. She served as an adjunct instructor for new teachers and is currently a Doctoral Candidate at Temple University. Fatima works as an education consultant for groups of teachers, community residents, organizations and independent schools. She has extraordinary skill as a facilitator in the art of listening and dialogue to foster transformation in challenging social interactions. Her work is constantly evolving as she and her husband and SOULMATE Onaje Muid find synergy in their work together as a means of healing our community while working towards the transformation of humanity. Onaje Muid (www.onajemuid.com) has sought the restoration of himself and his people via a thirty year history of activism, culminating in the reparations and human rights movements for oppressed nations, especially for descendants of formerly enslaved Africans in the Western Hemisphere. His United Nations work culminated in the declaring the Transatlantic Slave Trade as a crime against humanity at the seminal United Nations World Conference Against Racism, in Durban, South African, of which he was a delegate. His spiritual experience there led to the creation of the S.U.S. U. Healing Ritual, which now directs his life’s work. The creation of “In Loving Voice” is the latest (wo)manifestation of this coming forth of the heart. The show and his life’s enfoldment spring from a tremendous love shared between him and his wife, Fatima Hafiz. He holds a master’s in social work degree, is a credentialed alcohol and substance abuse counselor by the Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services (O.A.S.A.S.) of New York State, and is a licensed mental health counselor also in New York State. A graduate of the National Association of Black Social Workers’ African Centered Academy he endeavors to embody the healing of his people.
